Finding Light in Pandemic Darkness
It was March 2020, when the epicenter of COVID 19 impacted my work. Due to this pending health crisis, I was told that we were going to be sent home and wait for more news related to COVID 19. Since this virus was manifesting everywhere, in multiple industries, and every country, this was not a surprise. It was at this moment, I thought I better think outside of the box, because this situation could take a while.
I started to entertain the possibility of having my own business. What can I do? I debated between several ideas, and I thought about what things I truly enjoy and what can I offer. I thought about my little boy and my experiences as a new mother. Suddenly, it came to me! Being a mom has been a wonderful and folding discovery, with new and exciting challenges and opportunities.
Going through the entrepreneurship journey hasn't been easy. I decided to reach out to people who could provide support and guidance in starting to implement potential business ideas. Reaching out to those who can help you with their knowledge and wisdom is a must when you are choosing a new path.
After choosing a mentor, we started to work on a business plan, objectives, short- and long-term goals. This phase took a while, since I wanted to launch a long-term business opportunity and brand, not just a product.
Afterwards, we started to design the website, researching best products, and communicate with suppliers. This also took a while because we wanted specific quality products for boys.
Then, it was time to launch our initial version of Sebastianwear. Once we activated this e-commerce site and brand, it was time to consider a marketing strategy, campaigns, and which social media platforms we were going to start sharing our story with first.
I am very excited about the possibilities and the opportunities that Sebastianwear can bring to the families who begin to know, like, and trust our efforts to bring simple, sustainable, and suitable clothing for the baby boy.
I invite all of you, who are considering a new career path, or a change into a new industry, to simply start were you are at. Contact people who can mentor you, do your research, watch tutorials, and implement.
Remember:
(a). planning, (b). mentorship, (c). researching, and (d). implementing, are general basic steps that we need when we are embarking in a new career opportunity, journey or adventure.
It is worth to try it! At least you could say that you never kept your idea in a drawer and pursued your passions.
In every dark room, there is a light switch, you just need to turn it on!
Thanks for your support and please continue to visit us!
